Jewelry Care 101: Simple Tips to Keep Your Jewelry Shining

Fine jewelry is made to be treasured for years, but it benefits from regular care to maintain its beauty and brilliance. Here’s a quick, practical guide to caring for your gold, diamonds, and other fine pieces:

1. Wipe Down After Wearing
Gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils, sweat, and residue.

2. Polish Gently
Use a polishing cloth made for fine jewelry to bring back shine. Avoid using tissues or paper towels, which can scratch gold and stones.

3. Store Separately
Keep each piece in its own soft pouch or lined box to prevent scratches and tangles. Chains should be clasped to avoid knots.

4. Avoid Chemicals
Take off your jewelry when applying lotion, perfume, or hair products, and before swimming or cleaning—chemicals can dull or damage metal and stones.

5. Remove for Activities
Always remove rings, bracelets, and necklaces before exercising, swimming, or doing household chores to prevent damage.

6. Check Settings
Every so often, check that clasps are secure and stones aren’t loose. If anything seems off, have it looked at by a jeweler.

7. Clean Occasionally
For a deeper clean, soak your jewelry in warm water with a bit of mild dish soap, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and dry fully.

With these simple habits, your fine jewelry will stay as beautiful as the day you got it!
